They are made at their own factory in Richmond, North Yorkshire. Standing at
the gateway to Swaledale and some of the finest walking country in England,
the ancient town of Richmond was founded by the Normans in 1071AD. The
castle Keep still looks down over one of the largest cobbled market places
in the country - the centre for generations of trade and commerce in the
town.
During medieval
times the town was granted a royal charter giving rights to hold markets and
fairs. Craft guilds sprang up around the town and by the Georgian era
Richmond was a prosperous regional centre.
Time has moved
on and in England the craft guilds have almost died out. In Richmond,
however the craft of boot making still survives.
Altberg walking
and hiking boots are designed and manufactured for the great outdoors. Our

selection of Alt-Berg boots in stock, if your size is not in stock your
boots will be dispatched to you from the Alt-Berg factory via Parcel Force
